10 Fun and Educational Learning Ideas for School-going Children

Children get bored easily while studying, especially at school when they study the same subject day in and day out. However, you can change this by planning learning activities that are both fun and educational. This article will provide you with ten great suggestions on how to do just that

1) Educational Toys

Children love playing with their toys. But you should also encourage them to spend some time every day doing something that’s educational. Before they can read, they can learn a lot from reading picture books with you, watching fun videos on YouTube or simply flipping through magazines. And because our world is becoming increasingly tech-savvy, you can now find tons of apps and websites dedicated to teaching your child new things in fun ways.

2) Playing Video Games

Studies show that playing video games improves hand-eye coordination, critical thinking skills, and problem solving—and it’s fun! The more you play, with any game (not just video games), the better you get. When used as a reward system or incentive to encourage good behavior or academic performance, gaming is an effective tool in building young minds. Children who play at least three hours of video games per week perform significantly better in math than those who don’t.

3) Music Lessons

Every child loves music. You can develop their talent in it by introducing them to music lessons. It is a great way to learn how to make music, while having fun doing it. Music is an important element of every culture around us, so by introducing your kids to it early you are giving them a better understanding of our surroundings. You can enroll your kids in piano lessons or violin lessons, depending on what you think they would be interested in.

4) School Clubs

The cool part about joining a club is that you can learn all sorts of new things, get to know your classmates better, build on your leadership skills, and even get involved in some campus activities. There are a lot of clubs to join at college: there’s usually one (or more) based around every hobby imaginable—skiing, soccer, stamp collecting...you name it. Joining a club shows a deep interest in something; it also means more opportunities to meet people who have similar interests as you!

5) Sports Activities

Sports are an important part of our lives, they provide us exercise while being fun. Sports activities don’t have to be expensive either, in fact some sports like beach volleyball can be played right in your backyard or at a park. Not only do sports provide a fun way to keep fit but they also teach kids important lessons such as fair play, strategy and teamwork. Here are ten fun sports activities you can share with your kids

6) Hobbies

Hobbies are a fun way to learn. Have your child choose something they enjoy doing – like making crafts, reading, playing video games or listening to music – and have them teach you about it. You can even try it yourself to see if you enjoy it! Find a good balance between challenging yourself with new skills while still being open to new experiences.

7) Swimming

Swimming is not only a fun recreational activity, but it’s also great exercise. It helps you burn off those extra calories by increasing your heart rate, tone your muscles and help you shed excess fat.

8) Other Ways to Learn New Things at Home

What are you interested in? It can be anything from playing an instrument to starting a new vegetable garden. The world is your oyster! Take advantage of resources like YouTube or Khan Academy, or go old-school with books, magazines and Wikipedia. For example, if you’re curious about music theory, there are tons of online lessons to help you learn at your own pace; reading The Well-Tempered Clavier by Bach would give you a basic understanding of how music scales work.

9) Brain Teasers For Kids

Any parent knows that asking kids to solve a challenging puzzle or brain teaser is a great way to keep them occupied while they’re stuck indoors on a rainy day. While you might think such puzzles would be best suited for 5th graders, research suggests that these brain teasers can be useful in building better mental skills, even in toddlers. That said, there are several things you can do to make these puzzles more effective, and less frustrating for your child.

10) Books for Kids

As kids get older, they become more invested in stories of their own. One of my favorite things to do is recommend books to my friends with kids! Here are a few of my go-to recommendations: Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling; anything by Roald Dahl; any picture book about dinosaurs; The Chronicles of Narnia series by C.S.
